Moving with the times

Euromecc Sri, Italy

Italy-based Euromecc is a leading supplier of turnkey solutions for the concrete and cement industries. Over the last 25 years, it has continuously updated the design and technological innovation of its batching and precast plants and invested heavily in technology for bulk material handling and storage, particularly in recent times to meet increasingly demanding market requirements.

Euromecc has two production branches, the first of which focusses on batching plants and mixer production and is responsible for a variety of products including stationary or mobile batching plants, twin-shaft, planetary or continuous mixers, all manufactured inside the company’s main factory. This enables Euromecc to test and improve its product range and increase the company’s technological expertise.
The second branch is dedicated entirely to cement and bulk materials storage and handling. This is an area where Euromecc has achieved significant goals over the last five years and celebrated a number of important installations including a cement storage plant for private Brazilian industrial group Andrade Gutierrez, a member of the Consorcio Belo Monte.

Adapting to market needs
The global economic crisis has brought about a policy change with both small and large producers now equally interested in maximising the usability of their machines.
In response, Euromecc has spent the last seven years developing new solutions, particularly in mobile concrete batching plants and its R&D department has introduced a number of new models to satisfy customer needs. By exploring why customers need mobile batching plants, Euromecc has been able to further define the main features of each of its products.
Most importantly, the products have to be fast in terms of delivery, installation, production, disassembly and the ability to move from one site to another. This was key to the start of a new era at Euromecc, the fruits of which — the Euromobile4 fast100 — it was able to showcase at Samoter, a triannual construction exhibition, in 2008.

Mobile batching plants
Today, the company’s mobile batching plant models are divided into two categories, the first of which is mobile batching plants with planetary mixers. Euromecc currently produces two models with planetary mixers — the Euromobil4 fast30 and Euromobil4 fast45, with concrete outputs of 30m3/h and 45m3/h, respectively. These models are ideal for construction and/or packaging companies that require high performance and quality of concrete. These products are often combined with block-making machines, drawing on Euromecc’s experience in the precast industry. The batching plants consist of one unit, pre-assembled and pre-wired, transportable on an open-top 40ft container or on a lowering-bed trailer. The aggregate storage group, with total storage of 40m3, is divided into four compartments with double loading size.
The second category is mobile batching plants with twin shaft mixers. This category includes the Euromobil4 fast 80, Euromobil4 fast 100 and Euromobil4 fast 130. With four aggregate storage compartments in line, they are able
to ensure a high-quality hourly output capacities of 80m3, 100m3 and 130m3, respectively.
At the heart of these plants is the MEB mixer, entirely designed and produced by Euromecc using the most advanced technology and the highest-quality materials. Each plant is structured to allow for easy transportation, without the need for special permits and minimal installation time.

Customisation
Customisation is a key competitive advantage for Euromecc, enabling the company to apply changes to products before assembly. Working closely with customers from the start, Euromecc is able to identify exactly what needs to be improved and why. For example, a company may need to produce a particular type of special concrete and may require a concrete batching plant that respects the special production process in terms of timing, admixtures and ingredients that are different from the standard.
Examples of success in this area are a self-compacted concrete plant, installed in Italy in 2010, and a rolled compacted concrete plant, installed in Ethiopia at the end of 2011. Euromecc has also developed batching plants for the precast industry. By integrating its products into the client’s systems, it has realised its precast towers.
